Boarding Colleges for Girls

Oh no, a college with no male companions. How is a girl to develop any social abilities when she’s stuck in a single sex school? Her parents probably think she will be able to work on her studies better without male distractions if she attends a boarding college for girls. Of course there are the la-di-da finishing schools, where a young woman can learn the social graces critical to take her proper place in society. How outmoded is that?

Modern girls only schools are light years from the single sex faculties of the past. They supply a quality education and occasions to socialize. No more prowling off to the boy’s college across the way. To be truthful, there’s nothing like a good squeeze. While men could be variable, a girlfriend understands you and will be a part of your life for all time. I have a buddy like that and she’s a treasure. She’s seen me at my best and my worst and her friendship has never paused.

What will a young lady gain from attending a girl’s college? Apart from a good education, girls have a safe place to explore new interests and activities. Girls in co-ed faculties are less sure to speak up and be competitive for fear of being labeled and picked on. In an all girl setting, they can pursue their athletic interests without being labeled a jock or worse. They can develop a good competitive spirit and be a part of a team. Powerful female idols are much more likely to be found in a girl’s school. This helps girls to thrive and become healthy, well rounded adults.

Ladies are basically, folk pleasers and an environment free from male influence helps a young girl learn that her opinions have value and she will talk up for herself. Overall, it leads to a more successful and assured adult. Girls today can be anything they choose and a single sex environment supports a woman’s independence. Women can bond with each other and learn how to survive in a male controlled world without becoming that terrible word that many successful girls are called.

There’s a common myth that all girl schools are for “bad girls”. There are colleges that deal only with girls who’ve mental issues and behavior problems. A structured way of life is sometimes beneficial to remedy this situation, but most girl’s colleges are there to provide a quality education, confidence and a larger sense of self, so if you’re thinking about it, check one out. They inspire visits to determine if it’s a good fit.
